Doing Happy Dance
First let me say that I respect John Madden as a football commentator and thoroughly enjoy his video games. However, in the past 10 years or so, he’s become a parody of himself and watching him was like watching a drunk uncle try and explain the Tampa 2 defense. The guy has done a tremendous amount of good in promoting the NFL and making it what it is today. As well as probably single-handedly making EA Sports a profitable company.
Now…
HE’S RETIRING!!!! Thank god. I couldn’t take anymore telestrators and obvious comments. And clearly he’s not just going to sit at home and do nothing. I think he realized that Brett Favre was leaving for good and no longer had his golden calf to deify on a weekly basis. It’s like Dick Vitale without Tyler Hansbrough. So clearly John is just switching careers and will now be narrating Wrangler Jeans commercials and giving us all updates on what Brett had for dinner.
