Greinke Signs 4 Year Deal. Celebrates with Corn AND Tomatilla Salsa
The Royals signed Zach Greinke to a 4 year deal yesterday. Which is awesome. As long as he delivers. He’s always been a weird guy and his interviews are hilarious. (In a “so boring it’s entertaining” sort of way) All he can seem to be able to talk about is golf and Chipotle burritos. But I’m glad to see the Royals lock down a promising young pitcher. Although, I’m terrified he’s going to go all Angel Berroa on me. By the end of the 4 years, it will be the largest contract for a Royals player. One of the previous record holders was Mike Sweeney. That name alone makes me kind of nauseous. It wasn’t his fault he developed the back of Mr. Burns immediately after signing. But it was still horrible for the franchise. So here’s to hoping this works out well and thank you Royals for saving me from the sight of another former player walking away for such trivial reasons as “large contracts”, “World Series Rings”, and in Johnny Damon’s case: “A new wife and a hobo beard”.
